First Team Staffing is looking for a Mailing Inserter Operator to join our client’s production team in Nashville, TN. We are seeking a reliable and skilled operator for a full-time position with competitive pay, flexible scheduling, and opportunities to grow. The operator will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining mailing machines while ensuring high-quality output and adhering to safety standards. Daily activities focus on meeting production timelines and providing interdepartmental support in a professional, prompt, and courteous manner.
Pay & Schedule
- $18.00 per hour
- Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Flexible start times available: 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM or 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- Overtime may be required based on production needs
Job Summary
The Mailing Inserter Operator is responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of assigned mailing machines. The operator is expected to achieve optimal speed while maintaining high-quality standards and safety.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain a thorough understanding of all company products and services.
- Work directly with the Production Manager and follow assigned direction.
- Read and interpret all job ticket instructions; return incomplete or inaccurate tickets for correction.
- Obtain required client and internal sign-offs.
- Set up mailing machines and adjust to job specifications.
- Operate machines safely, efficiently, and independently.
- Sort, tray, sack, strap, and prepare mail for USPS acceptance.
- Return overs and report spoilage.
- Clean and maintain areas surrounding assigned machines.
- Maximize quality and speed for each job.
- Present suggestions for process improvements.
- Maintain knowledge of postal and freight regulations/requirements.
- Collaborate with Account Management, Print, and Warehouse to ensure workflow continuity.
- Meet required timelines and complete jobs accurately.
- Demonstrate support of the company’s mission, policies, and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.

Education and/or Experience
- Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred
- Six months to one year of mailing or production equipment experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Language Skills
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos
- Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group situations

Physical Requirements
- Ability to see, speak, and hear
- Standing, walking, bending, and stacking
- Move throughout the facility and distribute paperwork
- Substantial computer and phone use
- Use of feet and hands to operate electric and manual pallet jack
- Lift up to 20 lbs
