Job Description
Oversee all aspects of the fermentation process in the manufacturing of yeast, including batch making, raw materials feeding, and testing for temperature, pH, and flow control. Perform in-house testing and calibration of equipment following SOP guidelines. Seeking a proactive individual who is not easily overwhelmed and can multitask effectively.
Responsibilities
- Operate control room and manage fermentation process.
- Conduct quality control and testing for temperature and pH.
- Perform ethanol tests using ethanol meter and calibrate the equipment.
- Set up vessels, load yeast cream, and diagnose process issues.
- Document each load and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Climb tanks and manage pump, valve, and flowmeter operations.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in control room operations and chemistry.
- Knowledge of quality control processes and equipment handling.
- Experience with pumps, valves, flowmeters, and clean-in-place systems.
- Ability to conduct scientific tests and analyze results.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Associate's Degree required, preferably in a science discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years manufacturing experience, preferably in a fast-paced, production-driven food environment.

Work Environment
Rotating 3 on 3 off schedule with shifts from 6am-6pm and 6pm-6am, working only 6 months a year due to the 12-hour schedule. Availability for overtime is required for vacation and call-out coverage. Training will be provided for both utility and fermentation operator processes.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Memphis, Tennessee.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $21.50/hr.
