Role Overview
We’re hiring a part-time Clinical Mobility Technician to provide on-site transport support at MD Anderson (1515 Holcombe Blvd., Houston, TX 77030). This is a 12-month W2 contract. Schedules vary and include rotating weekends and some holidays. Reliability and on-time attendance are essential. Initial training is Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, for up to three weeks (or until all required training is completed), regardless of your assigned shift.
Where You’ll Work
You’ll support patient escort services at designated entry points and may occasionally assist at alternate MD Anderson locations as coverage expands.

What You’ll Do
- Escort hospital and ambulatory patients by wheelchair, stretcher, or hydraulic stretcher to initial appointments from entry points.
- Disinfect and inspect mobility equipment before every use following the Wheelchair “High‑Touch” Disinfection/Inspection Protocol and the Equipment Checklist for safe assists on/off equipment.
- Complete the Daily Disinfection & Tracking Log for each escorted patient, capturing:
- Date and start time
- Equipment asset tag number
- Type of equipment
- Disinfectant used
- Patient MRN
- Destination
- Completion time
- Provide courteous, professional service to patients and caregivers—clear communication and a warm, compassionate presence are key.
- Navigate the campus independently and follow directions precisely.
Physical Demands
This is a labor‑intensive, on‑your‑feet role for the entire shift. You must be able to push at least 200 lbs via wheelchair and comfortably handle patient transports up to 250 lbs using wheelchair and/or stretcher.
Uniform & Tools
- Standard uniform: light blue polo; black scrub bottoms or black business‑casual pants with belt loops; comfortable, non‑skid shoes; black or white socks.
- Black belt required if wearing business‑casual bottoms.
- Optional: black long‑sleeved shirt under the polo (tucked in).
- Institution‑issued iPhone and Employee ID badge provided for duty use.
Not permitted: button‑front or open‑front jackets; jackets with hoods/designs; artificial fingernails or overlays (gel/acrylic); artificial eyelashes; denim; leggings/jeggings/joggers; excessively tight or loose garments; undershirts with collars or hoods.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma (or GED equivalent).
- Experience: At least 1 year of patient care and substantial customer service experience.
- Strength: Ability to push a minimum of 200 lbs.
- Professional qualities: Compassion, composure, great communication, and adherence to instructions and safety protocols.
Onboarding & Compliance
Due to close patient contact, completion of the Clinical Onboarding Checklist is required.
Logistics
- All current openings for this role are part‑time.
- Parking is at the contractor’s expense (multiple garages and lots available; ask for current rates and options).
- On‑site position at 1515 Holcombe Blvd., Houston, TX 77030; occasional assignment to alternate MD Anderson locations may be required.
