Job Description\n
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry position in an acute care setting, requiring a WA or compact RN license and recent acute clinical experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
- Work in an 18-bed Telemetry unit within an acute care hospital
- Medical-surgical overflow patient population including CHF, DM, UTI, non-critical sepsis, HTN, COPD, isolation, end-of-life/palliative, patients awaiting placement, and post-op from general surgery
- Patient ratios are 1:4 to 1:5
- Limited titration of Heparin and Cardizem drips required (up to 10mg/hr)
- Use of CPAP and BiPAP equipment on unit
- Epic EMR is used for charting
- RN is expected to read telemetry strips; monitor techs may be available
- 12-hour day shifts with weekend work based on unit needs
- Floating required as needed
- No on-call responsibilities
- No specific scrub color required
- Provide nursing care for telemetry and medical-surgical overflow patients
- Participate in 2-3 shifts of unit-specific orientation
- Work within multidisciplinary teams including charge nurses and nurse aides
- Brand new department opening in December
- Holiday work may be required as discussed during interview
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position

- Active WA or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Current BLS (AHA) certification required
- Minimum of 1 year clinical acute care experience; 2 years experience preferred
- Experience titrating Heparin and Cardizem drips required
- Epic EMR experience is preferred
- Must provide copy of driver’s license at time of consideration
- Two professional references required: one from a supervisor within the last 12 months and one from a supervisor or peer from the last 3 years
- Compliance with facility vaccination requirements as applicable
