This position works closely with the Supervisor in a team environment with employees; providing training, support, and assistance to employees, for the purpose of helping employees and the shift to meet quality, SAFETY, production goals, and standards. This leadership position is technical in nature and responsible for the overall output and quality of all production lines. The successful operator will consistently perform duties in a SAFE and professional manner, meet production goals and standards, forestall safety hazards, diligently train shift Operators and other employees, and provide shift 3-month average run efficiencies of 90% or greater.

Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual is expected to perform each essential function satisfactorily.

1. Work is surely a priority.

2. Work in a team environment that supports members to achieve team goals in production, quality, and safety.

3. Comply with all quality and safety standards and procedures.

4. Read and understand daily the specifications that the order asks for.

5. The thermoforming operator must locate and read the order.

6. The thermoforming operator must read and locate boxes, bags, and pallets.

7. Physically locate boxes, bags, and pallets.

8. Know the product you will be working with.

9. Thermoforming operators will keep their forming machines clean.

10. Thermoforming operators will make sure their forming machines remain in a good working order.

11. Thermoforming operators will report any mechanical issues on the forming machines to maintenance.

12. Thermoforming operators will Not make any improvements or modifications to their forming machines.

13. Learn how to operate the machine safely.

14. Always ensure you have rolls staged for rolls changes and perform efficient and accurate roll changes.

15. Make sure that the roll that is put in the machine is the correct color and size.

16. Check that the roll has its corresponding label and if it does not have it, ask the material handler. Each roll must have a label.

17. Help the packer make boxes when the operator has time.

18. Operate the machine and make minor process adjustments to ensure product quality and process stability. Use lockout and tagout when needed.

19. Notify supervisor or thermoforming lead if more complex adjustments are needed.

20. Do not make temporary repairs. Instead, request that maintenance provide permanent solutions.

21. Communicate clearly with other employees to share information to ensure the team meets production goals.

22. Seal and stow checked boxes on pallet. Stowage height is usually 30 to 84 inches.

23. Know these quality defects and how to correct them:

a. Web (material esqueleto sobrante)

b. Hole (hoyos)

c. Off trim (piesa mal cortada no centrada)

d. Thin spots (areas delgadas)

e. Thin wall (paredes delgadas)

f. Thin bottom/top (area de arriva y abajo delgadas)

g. Thick spots (areas gruesas)

h. Flow line (lineas de mucho material)

i. Rough or poor trim (Producto mal cortado y rasposo)

j. Plug or assist marks (marcas en el producto de las plogas)

k. Non-plug/assist marks (marcas en el prodructo de no tener plogas)

l. Poor form (producto mal formado)

m. Poor mating part fit and retentention (producto mal cortado y no resistente al peso)

n. Poor compression test results (producto no retiene el peso)

o. Contamination (contaminacion en el producto)

p. Angel hair None allowed (pelo de angel Nada está permitido)

q. Silicone stains (manchas de silicone)

r. Sealing surface defects (producto defectuoso al rededor del aro)

s. Poor optical characteristics (producto no se ve bien)

t. Dent (producto golpeado)

u. Product falling out of rails (la hoja callendose de los rieles)

v. Sheet falling out of rails (la hoja callendose de los rieles)

w. Shot sticking to mold (la hoja pegandose en el molde)

x. Warped product (producto torcido)

y. Metal None allowed (metal Nada está permitido)

24. Make sure you have enough pallets, bags, and boxes so you don’t have to stop the machine due1 to lack of these.

25. Correctly complete the required documentation. Make sure that the production report is complete, do not leave empty or unfilled spaces, if you have any questions, contact your supervisor.

26. Thermoforming operators’ area responsible for the quality of the parts they make. Thermoforming operators must review the part weight, the visual appearance and functionality of the parts. This is done by taking one cycle every hour and performing the tasks described in procedure PP-225, Operator Driven Quality TF-Retention Rack.

27. Keep your work area clean and tidy, organize work area sweet the floor when needed.

28. Continue to learn the operation of the machine safely.

29. Contact your supervisor or trainer if you have questions or do not feel confident doing a job.

30. Teamwork is essential.

31. Have initiative and interest in work.
