We are seeking an experienced Head of Preconstruction to lead estimating and preconstruction efforts for a respected Houston-based general contractor with decades of success in commercial projects. This firm specializes in office, retail, industrial/distribution, religious, and non-profit facilities, delivering negotiated GMP contracts and value-driven solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all preconstruction activities, including budgeting, scheduling, and estimating.
- Lead Preconstruction and collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers.
- Develop and maintain cost databases; ensure accurate and competitive bids.
- Provide value engineering recommendations and strategic input during design phases.
- Drive client engagement and ensure alignment with project goals.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in construction estimating, with a strong commercial ground up background.
- Proven leadership in preconstruction or senior estimating roles.
- Proficiency with estimating software and MS Office.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
