Purpose of the Position:
We are searching for an organized and detail-oriented Equipment Manager to oversee our equipment inventory and maintenance. This role will be responsible for ensuring that our equipment is in good condition and that it meets all safety standards. The Equipment Manager will also manage the purchasing, tracking, and maintenance of all equipment, as well as create and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient operation.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Monitor and update equipment inventory records
- Purchase new equipment and supplies as needed
- Track and maintain all equipment maintenance records
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for efficient equipment operation
- Conduct regular equipment inspections to ensure safety and compliance with standards
- Ensure that all equipment is in good working condition
- Troubleshoot any problems that arise with equipment
- Operate and maintain equipment
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors to perform routine maintenance
- Make recommendations for new or replacement equipment
- Develop and manage budgets for purchasing and maintenance
- Train staff in the proper use of equipment
Direct reports:
- 4-6 Equipment Supervisors Overall department size ~60.
Education & Experience:
- 8-10 years of manufacturing experience including at least 5 in production operations and 2 years as a 2 level supervisor
- Bachelors of Science in engineering or BS in another technical area
- Advanced degree in engineering or business a plus
- 2 years of experience in project management
- Experience in new product development a plus
Required Experience:
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven experience in equipment engineering, design, and/or maintenance.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Project management experience.
- Budget management experience.
- Experience with software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) (for some roles)
- Desired Skills:
- Experience in solar module or wafer manufacturing
- Experience in glass manufacturing
- Experience in manufacturing in clean environments
Soft Skills:
