Position Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Quality / ISO Coordinator to lead quality assurance initiatives and manage our Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with ISO 9001:2015, AS9100, and government contract requirements. This hybrid role is responsible for both hands-on quality engineering tasks and ensuring ongoing ISO compliance through internal audits, documentation management, and process improvement. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a collaborative mindset, and experience interfacing with customers and regulatory bodies. U.S. Citizenship is required.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality standards, procedures, and documentation in compliance with ISO 9001:2015, AS9100, and customer requirements.
- Conduct internal ISO audits and lead the audit program to assess and ensure QMS effectiveness.
- Facilitate external audits with government agencies and customers; ensure timely resolution of findings.
- Monitor, investigate, and resolve nonconformities; drive root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date QMS documentation, including procedures, work instructions, forms, and audit records.
- Lead annual quality reviews with senior management, highlighting performance metrics and improvement opportunities.
Inspection, Testing & Reporting
- Perform and oversee inspections and tests of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to verify compliance with specifications.
- Prepare and review quality documentation such as First Article Test (FAT), PPAP submissions, and other customer-required reports.
- Present quality documentation and products to customers and government source inspectors, responding to inquiries and resolving concerns.
- Support contract inspection activities as needed.
Process Improvement & Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with production, engineering, and operations teams to identify areas for quality improvement and implement solutions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using quality tools such as root cause analysis, SPC, and Lean/Six Sigma principles.
- Ensure workflows and processes remain aligned with evolving quality and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience, preferred
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in quality engineering, ISO auditing, or quality assurance in a manufacturing or regulated environment.
Certifications
- ISO 9001:2015 Internal or Lead Auditor certification preferred.
Skills
- Strong understanding of ISO 9001, AS9100, and government/military contract standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with QMS software tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to work across departments and with external auditors or customers.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and technical writing abilities.
- Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently or as part of a team.
