Job Title: Mold Repairer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mold Repairer to perform repair and maintenance on molds in alignment with production and supply chain operations. This position serves as the primary technical expert for troubleshooting and resolving mold-related issues on the shop floor, providing guidance and support to production teams.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repair and maintenance on molds in coordination with production and supply chain.
  • Serve as the primary technical expert for troubleshooting and resolving mold-related issues on the shop floor.
  • Provide guidance and support to production teams regarding mold-related questions.
  • Review current mold inventory and assess the condition and suitability of each mold.
  • Identify local suppliers for mold repairs and modifications and coordinate directly with selected suppliers.
  • Develop and update preventive maintenance plans and histories for all molds in collaboration with the injection molding team.
  • Review and document detailed assembly and installation instructions for molds.
  • Provide feedback on mold designs to improve performance and longevity.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in mold making or repair.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in troubleshooting and resolving mold/die issues promptly.
  • Proficiency in using computers and computer applications.
  • Experience working with vendors to machine and build new molds.
  • Ability to travel abroad for training and development (passport required).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • An associate degree is a plus.
  • Additional injection molding training is beneficial.
  • Experience with welding and fabrication is advantageous.
  • 1+ year of experience with Arburg brand machines is a plus.

Work Environment

The position is open on the 1st shift from 6:00 am - 2:30 pm, with the expectation to work on the first shift for 2-3 months until comfortable working 7am - 3:30pm The role is part of a fast-paced, dynamic team in a facility dedicated to manufacturing durable and reliable products for various industrial applications.

This is a Permanent position based out of Elgin, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
