Job Title: Estimator
Job Description
The Estimator will be responsible for assembling proposals issued by the Estimating Manager, reviewing each customer's RFQs, and organizing the preparation of these proposals using industry-standard forms and methods. The role involves bidding, budgeting, project estimating, and scheduling for up to six projects simultaneously, with project sizes ranging from $50,000 to $40 million for both new and existing customers. The majority of the work (90%) is automotive-related, with the remainder in other industries.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble detailed proposals for customer RFQs.
- Assist with bidding, budgeting, and project estimating.
- Schedule and manage up to six projects concurrently.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams.
- Interface with customers and vendors.
- Travel as needed to attend bid meetings and review job sites.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in automotive or industrial equipment estimating, installation, design, or project management.
- Experience with complex construction projects valued at $3-5+ million.
- Proficiency in budgeting, project management, industrial equipment estimation, and scheduling planning.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and AutoCAD for reading, plotting, and dimensioning.
- Strong knowledge of conveyor support systems safety requirements.
- Familiarity with automation installation processes.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wixom, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
