Electrical contractor looking for Journeyman Electricians with available openings in Chicagoland Area & Travel Solar Electrical work in Central Illinois.
Minimum 2-3 yrs. experience as an electrician. Must have good knowledge of the NEC and reliable transportation.
Residential and Commercial construction, and remodel, service calls are in Northern Illinois, Chicagoland area.
All the solar electrical projects are at prevailing wage in Central Illinois. Travel Sunday through Friday is required, hotel accommodation is provided. Any solar electrical experience is preferred but willing to train the right qualified electrician. Solar Electricians are in high demand in Illinois. Come help us meet the demand for clean energy in Illinois.
Basic Duties for Solar include but are not limited to:
Install AC and DC electrical wiring for solar PV systems
Install battery backup systems
Work in a team environment to complete installation efficiently.
Interconnect solar PV systems with private and utility’s distribution system
Ensure projects meet NEC, state, and local standards
Communicate professionally with others
Occasionally Meet with inspectors to finalize installations
Basic Duties for Commercial and Residential Electrical include but not limited to:
Execute plans of electrical wiring for well-functioning lighting, and other electrical systems
Install electrical apparatus, fixtures, and equipment
Install safety and distribution components
Connect wiring in electrical
Prepare and assemble conduits and connect wiring through them
Prevent or repair breakdown of systems by inspecting and replacing old wiring and insulated cables, etc.
Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair
Skills
Proven experience as an electrician
Strong knowledge of NEC code
Management skill preferred with ability to provide good directions to apprentices assigned to your team
Demonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools and electrical drawings and blueprints
Thorough knowledge of safety procedures
Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability
All applicants must have basic hand tools, safety attire including steel toe boots, and hard hat.
Must have reliable transportation, and good attendance history.
