Title: Lead HVAC Technician

What this job involves – The HVAC Lead will serve as the subject matter expert for all heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This role has a strong focus on leading and performing hands-on operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of the facility's HVAC equipment. While expertise in HVAC is paramount, individuals are expected to have a strong working knowledge of related electrical and plumbing systems to successfully complete daily and weekly work assignments.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follows safety policies and procedures, maintains strict attention to detail when working on job sites.

  • Performance of ongoing preventive and repair work orders on facility HVAC systems, with secondary support for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems as needed.

  • Utilizes CMMS work order system to manage the timely completion of all preventative and corrective maintenance assignments, with a focus on HVAC assets.

  • Provide support for Operations and Engineering leadership and team members to ensure work orders and preventive maintenance tasks are completed in compliance with Service Level Agreements.

  • Lead and share expert-level knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, and best practices with team members to grow their skills.

  • Requires the ability to analyze the operation of complex HVAC systems, determine the cause of any problems/malfunctions, and take corrective action as required.

  • Monitor Building Automation Systems (BAS), respond to alarms, and diagnose resolutions, particularly for HVAC-related issues.

  • Diagnose, inspect, repair, and maintain all HVAC equipment including but not limited to refrigeration and air conditioning compressors, chillers, water cooling towers, boilers, air handling units, VAV boxes, and control systems.

    Desired experience and technical skills - Required

    High School diploma or GED equivalent.

    Must have and maintain a valid Tennessee Driver’s License.

    Universal EPA / CFC license.

    Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on technical experience in commercial HVAC systems, with deep expertise in system design, application, and maintenance.
