Position Title: Research Project Coordinator
Department: Administration
Reports To: Clinical Director
POSITION SUMMARY
The Research Project Coordinator is responsible for the oversight of protocol operation, supervising research assistants, and assisting the Clinical Director in implementing research activities at Tarzana Treatment Centers, Inc. (TTC).
CATEGORIES OF DUTIES
1. Monitor recruitment and tracking of research study participants, as well as study records, participant tracking logs, and study regulatory binders.
2. Assure that interviews with study participants are conducted by research assistants in a timely and ethical manner.
3. Maintain good working relationships and contact with protocol team members.
4. Assist research assistants in adhering to study protocols, including the reporting Serious Adverse Events to the appropriate parties as they occur for research study participants.
5. Prepare for regular visits from Quality Assurance monitors and other regulatory monitors.
6. Attend protocol trainings, specific measurement trainings, research-oriented trainings, and protocol-related meetings, as necessary.
7. Conduct research assistant duties (data collection, reporting, and participant interviews) as needed, in the event of an absence of research assistant(s).
8. Provide administrative oversight to RAs, including the completion of e-time, work schedules, time off, and progressive discipline, as needed.
9. Complete annual Performance Evaluations for research assistants.
10. Supervise the work activities and quality of work of research assistants.
11. Attend research meetings, as required.
12. Participate in TTC committees as needed and required.
13. Represent TTC at research and community meetings, as required.
14. Conduct data analyses to assist in internal program evaluation, performance improvement, and research activities.
15. Write reports and discuss or interpret data, as required, to other staff within the organization.
16. Additional functions as requested by the Clinical Director.
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE
Bachelors Degree or Master’s in a social science, with a solid knowledge of research methods. Prior research experience as a research assistant (or a similar position) in behavioral health research studies, essential. Knowledge of computers and statistical software programs such as SPSS. Prior data entry and word processing experience.
