We are seeking a detail-oriented and mechanically skilled Caster Repair Technician to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of continuous casting equipment. This role is critical to ensuring the safe and efficient operation of machinery used in metal production and processing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect, disassemble, and repair caster components including rolls, bearings, segments, and hydraulic systems
- Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled overhauls on casting machines
- Use precision measuring tools to ensure proper alignment and tolerances
- Weld, grind, and fabricate parts as needed for repair or replacement
- Document maintenance activities and report equipment conditions
- Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification preferred
- Experience in mechanical repair, preferably in a steel mill or foundry environment
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding, and fabrication
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
- Standing, bending, and climbing for extended periods
- Exposure to heat, noise, and industrial environments
