Our client company is a business unit of a much larger forest products company. As one of the few fully integrated tissue manufacturers in North America, their facilities give them a well-established presence in retail and away-from-home (AfH) tissue manufacturing and are ideally suited to serve U.S. customers. They own and operate three manufacturing mills: Sanford, Florida; Hialeah, Florida; and Calhoun, Tennessee; and one converting facility in Hagerstown, Maryland. Their Calhoun facility produces premium private label tissue for the retail market, while the company’s Hialeah and Sanford mills manufacture private label and branded recycled and virgin tissue and towel grades. Their newly-acquired Hagerstown facility also converts private label and branded tissue, towel and facial tissue grades. Their brands qualify for certifications including Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI®), Green Seal®, FSC® Mix (FSC-C145882) and Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC/26-31-70). The company’s facilities are certified to the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standard (ISO 22716) which ensures products are consistently manufactured to an expected quality level.
The company has an immediate need for Mechanical Technicians to help with cleanup and moving and restoring equipment lost or damaged by a major plant fire. Ideal candidates would have the following qualifications and experience:
- A general knowledge of things mechanical
- Able to use basic tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, etc.)
- Can lift items of at least fifty pounds and more
- Ability to work independently without a lot of supervision
- Understands the need for good attendance and punctuality
- Can pass a drug screen and background check
First shift Monday - Friday 8AM - 5PM. This is more than likely a temp to hire position with benefits with a major multi-national company.
