CSET is looking for an organized and motivated individual to work within its Weatherization Program. Qualified candidates must be able to work independently, have the ability to provide on-the-job training to participants and provide project supervision of work crews in the construction field (e.g. weatherization). Excellent communication and customer service skills a must! Minimum of 1-year experience in home weatherization, home repair and or construction, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Capability to coach work crew & analyze projects.
SCOPE OF WORK:
As part of the team and under the direct supervision of the Weatherization Senior Program Coordinator and or
Weatherization Director, the Weatherization Project Supervisor will install basic weatherization measures and
perform minor home repairs to assist in reducing the energy consumption and address health and safety issues
for low-income households of Tulare County. In addition, the Weatherization Project Supervisor will provide the
Sequoia Community Corps members with on-the-ground training and education on installing weatherization
measures, safety and work ethics.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Upholds company principles and practices to the highest degree, represent the agency in a professional
manner, makes any necessary referrals for clients and exemplifies the agency commitment to help lowincome persons to make their homes more energy efficient.
• Responsible to follow contract and agency guidelines to install weatherization measures. Maintains an
understanding of and complies with weatherization policies, standards, rules, procedures and applicable
building and safety codes.
• Leads, trains, provides mentorship and monitors a conservation corps team during weatherization
installations of measures. This includes providing training to corps members with specific attention to
installing weatherization measures, safe work practice, work quality, production efficiency and excellent
work ethics.
• Trains and installs energy saving measures including but not limited to lighting, thermostats, CO
detectors, smoke alarms, glass, windows, doors, caulking, sealing, weather stripping, water conservation
measures and performs diagnostic testing. Loading and unloading trucks. Performs minor home repairs
incidental to weatherization.
• Duties include installing insulation products, loading and unloading trucks, minor home repair, diagnostic
testing.
• Enforces safety procedures, operates, trains and ensures all tools/equipment used are operating and
performing in accordance with safety regulations.
• Promptly notifies appropriate personnel of any potential safety concerns regarding the worksite, crews,
equipment and vehicle.
• Tracks and maintains material records used on each job site. Ensures job materials and equipment are
available for scheduled jobs.
• Performs duties in shop and warehouse including carpentry, inventory, clean-up, and routine
maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
• Drives company vehicle to assigned work sites in the Tulare County service areas. Keeps agency
vehicles clean, organized and uses vehicle for work purposes only. Maintains daily mileage logs for the
vehicle being driven.
• Thoroughly completes and maintains all required clients files, forms and document per job site.
• Attends and participates in training and professional development to build required knowledge in field, as
well as, obtain certifications and other relevant accreditation related to the weatherization field.
• Works in collaboration with the Weatherization Assessor to accomplish and complete the work scope as
specified in the assessment to make homes more energy efficient.
• Performs corrections on any failed inspections of weatherized homes and completes correction
paperwork.
• Attends and participates in training and professional development to build required knowledge in field, as
well as, obtain certifications and other relevant accreditation related to the weatherization field.
• Performs other duties as directed by management which are deemed by management to be an integral
part of the job, including but not limited to fulfillment of work schedules, adherence to attendance policies,
and other applicable operating rules, policies and procedures.
SPECIAL SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Ability to provide effective on-the-job training.
• Windows operating system including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Access) and
program data base.
• Possess communication skills, research abilities, flexibility and an ability to work well with others.
• Ability to accurately record and deliver information, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality of
restricted information.
• Ability to maintain personal composure, tactfully handle difficult situations, and interpret questions
correctly; ability to behave in a friendly, understanding, helpful, and professional manner with participants
and program staff
• Ability to explain, demonstrate and clarify to others, the understanding of the well-established principles,
practices, policies and procedures.
• Must have a working knowledge of safe and proper use of power tools and equipment, both power and
hand operated.
• Must have knowledge of basic safety procedures, use reasonable precautions at all times in the
performance of duties, and act in such a manner as to assure maximum safety to oneself, fellow
employees, and the public.
• Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
• Access to reliable transportation and travel are required to perform essential duties. Obtains and
maintains the required motor vehicle liability insurance requirements. Maintains an acceptable motor
vehicle record.
