Assistant Plant Manager / Plant Project Manager

Job Summary:
The Assistant Plant Manager serves as the Plant Manager’s primary support and operational second-in-command, responsible for ensuring smooth, efficient daily manufacturing operations and leading major plant-wide initiatives. This role oversees production flow, staffing, performance, and cross-departmental coordination while driving continuous improvement through structured project and process management.
Salary Range is 75 to 90k+ and is based on overall experience and skill set.
Key responsibilities include
· Managing and executing improvement projects
· Monitoring and analyzing KPIs,
· Supporting ERP scheduling and materials accuracy, and
· Ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and production standards.
· Coaching supervisors and team leads, resolving bottlenecks, and fostering a culture of accountability, urgency, and continuous improvement.
Qualified candidates will bring:
· 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience
· Strong project management skills
· Hands-on operational involvement
· Knowledge of ERP systems (Epicor preferred)
· Lean methodologies (PMP, Six Sigma or similar certification is a plus)
Success is measured by on-time project completion, improved throughput and schedule attainment, reduced scrap and downtime, strong KPI performance, and effective communication across teams.
