POSITION SUMMARY:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily production within the facility to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role manages production staff, coordinates workflow, ensures compliance with food safety and regulatory standards, and drives continuous improvement in productivity and workplace safety.
SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm, hours may change due to company needs.
WAGE: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 annually DOE, subject to all required taxes and withholdings.
No relocation
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise and lead production team members in assigned processing areas, providing direction, coaching, and performance feedback.
- Manage the day-to-day activities of the manufacturing process to assure that safety and best practices are consistently met.
- Create the daily production schedule to meet customer demand and maximize production efficiencies.
- Manage daily and weekly production labor scheduling to meet labor goals.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with USDA, HACCP, GMP, and company food safety and sanitation requirements.
- Train employees in standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and equipment operation.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and Procurement teams to resolve production issues and maintain product integrity.
- Assist in creating, tracking and analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs), such as throughput, waste, downtime, and labor efficiency.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs, increase efficiency, and optimize production processes.
- Investigate and resolve production-related problems while maintaining minimal disruption to operations.
- Ensure a safe working environment by promoting a strong culture of safety and compliance with OSHA standards.
- Maintain accurate records of production reports, employee attendance, and departmental performance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3+ years of supervisory experience in food manufacturing or meat processing (fresh meat experience strongly preferred).
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, USDA regulations, and food safety requirements.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot production issues and implement effective solutions.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays, as needed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Temperatures can be extreme (hot or cold) depending on the season and the area of work.
- Stand for long periods of time and perform repetitive tasks.
- Reaching by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction.
- Finger dexterity is required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than with whole hand(s) or arm(s), for example, using a keyboard or calculator.
- Communication skills using the spoken word.
- Ability to see and hear within normal parameters.
- Ability to lift at least 40 pounds.
