Location: Gainesville, VA
Compensation: $50.00/hour + $1,000/week per diem

Position Summary
We are seeking a qualified Safety Manager with a strong electrical background to lead Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) efforts on a high-profile data center construction project in Gainesville, VA. This position requires hands-on electrical safety expertise, preferably gained from prior experience as an industrial or construction electrician, with a deep understanding of NEC, NFPA 70E, and OSHA electrical safety standards. The ideal candidate will ensure that electrical and general construction safety procedures are properly implemented and enforced across all phases of the project.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead site-wide EHS compliance efforts with an emphasis on electrical safety and high-voltage operations.
- Oversee the development and enforcement of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) programs, arc flash mitigation procedures, and energized work permitting.
- Conduct and document daily electrical safety audits and field inspections, ensuring compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, and OSHA Subpart K.
- Collaborate closely with electrical subcontractors and supervise high-risk activities including switchgear energization, cable pulling, grounding, and commissioning.
- Facilitate Daily Hazard Analysis (DHA) meetings with special focus on electrical risks and PPE compliance.
- Lead incident investigations involving electrical equipment or hazards, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Support and mentor site electricians and supervisors on industry best practices for electrical safety.
- Deliver engaging electrical-specific safety training sessions and toolbox talks to ensure compliance and awareness.
- Partner with the GC and client’s risk management teams to align electrical safety goals and site-specific standards.
- Maintain and review all safety documentation related to electrical systems, arc flash studies, and energized work.
- Stay current with changes in NFPA, NEC, and OSHA codes and apply knowledge in real-time job site applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of safety experience, including at least 3+ years working directly with electrical systems in a safety leadership role.
- Prior field experience as an industrial or construction electrician strongly preferred.
- Expert knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA Subpart K, and electrical risk management protocols.
- Certifications: OSHA 30 and OSHA 510 required; OSHA 500, CHST, CSP, or NFPA 70E Certification highly preferred.
- Fluent in English; Spanish fluency a plus.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to lead meetings and engage with teams at all levels.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management platforms.
