Position Summary
The UV Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining the UV systems to ensure the safety and quality of beverages produced in the plant. This role involves monitoring UV equipment, performing routine maintenance, and adhering to strict sanitation and safety standards.
Schedule
- 3rd Shift (8:30 PM - 5:00 AM). Training will occur during the 2nd shift.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate UV disinfection systems and ensure they function correctly, efficiently, and safely.
- Monitor operational parameters such as UV intensity, flow rates, and water quality.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of UV equipment to prevent downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of UV system performance and any maintenance activities.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Participate in safety trainings and drills to maintain a safe working environment.
- Comply with all environmental regulations and company policies regarding beverage safety and quality.
- Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure products meet industry standards.
- Perform NetSuite system transfers, data entry, and reporting. Adhere to SOP, SSOP, GMP, and HACCP guidelines when in the plant.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
Job Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; further technical or vocational training preferred.
Experience:
- Strong understanding of production processes, quality control, and safety protocols.
- 2+ Years of warehouse/manufacturing experience
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards for food and beverage manufacturing (GMP’s)
- Basic computer literacy for record-keeping and reporting.
- Forklift experience a plus
Language Skills:
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate, read, listen, and understand English.
- Bilingual a plus
Other Abilities:
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to perform routine maintenance.
- Ability to work well under time constraints and prioritize work to meet commitments/deadlines.
- Ability to work cross-functional with other departments.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high product quality.
Working and Environmental Conditions

Work performed in a wet, refrigerated manufacturing facility with temperatures below 40°ree;F, with occasional tasks in dry warehouses (up to 85°ree;F) or freezer environments (as low as -10°ree;F).

Exposure to noisy environments exceeding 85 dBA.

Work areas may be tight; continuous PPE use (safety glasses, ear protection, steel-toed shoes) is required.

Must be able to perform repetitive tasks efficiently and safely.

May require forklift certification and operation, including maintenance and inspections.
Physical Demands

Stand and walk for entire shift.

Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. continuously; push/pull up to 100 lbs. continuously.

Navigate manufacturing environments including bending, kneeling, reaching overhead, stooping, squatting, twisting, climbing ladders/stairs, and working at heights.

Regular use of hands for grasping and controlling objects.

Occasional desk work requiring computer use.

Exposure to moving machinery.

Must pass a fit-for-duty physical exam.

Compensation
- $18 - $20/HR DOE
- Plus, $.50 shift differential
