The Commercial Construction General Superintendent manages all on-site activities formultiplecommercialdrywallprojects. They serve as the primary representative and are responsible for ensuring projects are safe, on time, within budget, and in compliance with design specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Direct, Manage, and oversee multiple commercial drywall projects ranging from retail to healthcare.
- Serve as the eyes and ears in the field,solve problems,Work with foremen to address issues, be the liaison with the GC operations staff.
- Communicate with Subcontractors to ensure schedules are being met.
- Scheduling manpower and equipment for multiple job sites.
- Managing all field related employees.
- Coordinate efforts between project management, foremen, subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site personnel.
- Inspect ongoing work to ensure compliance with contract documents, blueprints, and construction standards.
- Direct foremen,maintaining quality, progress, and safety standardsand that the proper production goals are being met.
- Enforce OSHA and company safety protocols; maintain safe working conditions and daily site housekeeping.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks or delays; escalate major issues to the PM or VP as needed.
Qualifications:
- 8-10+ years of leading commercialDrywallconstruction job sites as a Superintendent.
- Proven ability to lead multiple trade crews and onsite teams. Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills.
- OSHA 30.
- True subject matter expert within various trade roles within the construction industry.
- Bilingual is a definite plus.
- Metal stud framing, load bearing CFMF experience.
- Exposure to working on hotels, office buildings, higher learning, etc.
- Medical and Hospital experience a plus.
- Proficient in reading blueprints, shop drawings, and layouts plans.
- Effective communication with clients, GC teams, and office staff.
- Competency in utilizing electronic devices (iPad, laptop) for accessing blueprints, schedules, and project documentation.
- Experience working with scheduling software such as Procore, SharePoint, ACC Build, etc.
