Experienced Kitchen Suppression / Fire Extinguisher Technician
North GA Fire Solutions - Marietta GA
North Georgia Fire Solutions is a local company that has been servicing and installing kitchen hood fire suppression systems, fire extinguishers, and exit and emergency for over 17 years. We are currently hiring service techs and installers for the Atlanta metro and North GA areas. We are seeking highly motivated, customer service oriented individuals.
This position is responsible for the proper service, maintenance and installation of kitchen hood fire suppression systems and fire extinguishers. Responsibilities include servicing, inspecting, testing and performing system and extinguisher maintenance in accordance with fire code. This includes identifying code violations, system deficiencies, and preparing/writing accurate inspection reports.
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license
- Clean driving record
- Ability to lift 75lbs
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills
- Working knowledge of NFPA codes
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to write and speak English, some Spanish would be helpful, but not required
- Punctuality
- Critical thinking/problem solving Skills
Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Installation, inspection, service, preventative maintenance, and repair of kitchen fire suppression systems, fire extinguishers, and exit and emergency lighting
- Complete necessary paperwork in an accurate and legible manner
- Monitor, test, inspect and replace fire suppression system tanks
- Complete inspection reports and turn into management
- Discuss deficiencies noted with customer, explaining the problem and its resolution
- Keep work truck clean and organized
- Acquire vehicle maintenance according to company policies
- Periodically attend seminars or similar education/training sessions to stay abreast of latest technology, codes, and standards changes
- Manage inventory and tools in vehicle to assure proper parts and tools are on hand
- Expected to meet weekly service and productivity goals
- Manage time to complete the maximum amount of service calls while maintaining a high level of quality
- Work in a safe manner as outlined by company safety procedures
- May require performance of On Call duties as required, including responding and resolving weekend trouble calls
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 25-30 pounds (Daily), 75 pounds (Occasionally)
- Must be able to push and pull greater than 25 pounds (Daily), 50 pounds as needed (Occasionally)
- Must be able to safely use and climb a ladder and reach a height of at least 12 ft. (Daily)
- Ability to operate basic hand and power tools - drills, screwdrivers, channel locks, tape measure, pipe/conduit cutter, etc.
