Job Title: Production Technician
Job Description
The Manufacturing Technician is responsible for operating and maintaining equipment used in the production of chemical products while ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and production standards. The role involves handling raw materials, monitoring processes, troubleshooting equipment, and maintaining accurate production records. This role must follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), comply with environmental safety regulations, and collaborate with team members to meet production goals.
Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, and adjust chemical manufacturing equipment to ensure safe and efficient production, including tank inerting, tank charging, filtration setup, and making batch adjustments.
- Handle, measure, mix, and blend raw materials according to specified formulations, following both safety and quality guidelines.
- Collect samples for QC lab analysis.
- Perform basic equipment cleaning and troubleshooting.
- Accurately process production data transactions in the ERP system (SAP). Ensure proper labeling, marking, and storage of products according to specified requirements, segregating products when necessary.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and adhere to safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and hazardous material handling procedures.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, safety programs, and required training to enhance operational knowledge and compliance.
- Adhere to 5S practices to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in production and safety procedures.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and SOPs.
- Basic math skills, including the ability to perform measurements, conversions, and simple calculations related to production processes.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions, SOPs, and safety guidelines in English.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to stand, walk, and move continuously for extended periods, accessing different areas of the manufacturing environment.
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of materials and equipment, typically 5-20 lbs.
- Use of hand trucks, drum dollies, or other material-handling equipment to move heavy drums of material or equipment.
- Manual dexterity to operate equipment, handle materials, and perform precise tasks.
- Bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching as required for equipment access and operation.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders as needed.
- Good hand-eye coordination and visual acuity to monitor equipment, read documentation, and ensure safety compliance.
- Ability to wear and work in personal protective equipment (PPE) including gloves, safety glasses, respirators, and chemical-resistant company-issued uniform, as required.

Work Environment
Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to chemicals, fumes, and airborne particles, with proper PPE provided, and noise levels requiring hearing protection in designated areas. Work may involve operating near moving machinery and heavy equipment. Shift work, including nights, weekends, and overtime, may be required based on production needs. Shifts are scheduled as follows: 1st shift from 6am to 2pm, 2nd shift from 2pm to 10pm, and 3rd shift from 10pm to 6am.

This is a Contract position based out of North Kingstown, RI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
