Job DescriptionSalary: $34.00-$45.00/hr
Price Electric is seeking a collaborative Electrical Estimator with expertise in industrial and commercial estimating to support the growth of its Fort Myers branch.
Primary Duties:
- Identify and qualify new business opportunities, working closely with key staff to advance targeted leads and strategies for both new and existing customers.
- Foster effective relationships with customers that embody and promote the companys vision, mission, and core values ensuring customer expectations are met or exceeded and demonstrating that Price Electric is a trusted solution provider.
- Proactively build and maintain a comprehensive database of key vendors (including suppliers, subcontractors, and engineers), cultivating long-term relationships to secure optimal value and pricing.
- Gather RFQ and RFP plans, specifications and documents; attend project pre-bid meetings and site visits; and comprehend both verbal and written job scopes to identify value engineering opportunities and design electrical projects for budgeting purposes.
- Stay informed about market trends and current construction standards and materials, while maintaining and communicating data on cost drivers that impact construction and material databases.
- Request and evaluate vendor and sub-tier bids for completeness and compliance.
- Analyze, manage, and mitigate risks, determining labor and material requirements for each project.
- Prepare comprehensive material, labor, and subcontractor cost estimates for bid proposals and change orders, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
- Prepare job hand-offs to Operations and provide internal consultation throughout the project life cycle.
- Produce professional, high-quality work within deadlines, demonstrating proficiency with construction software (e.g., McCormick).
Qualifications:
- Four years of technical electrical training or education, such as Journeyperson Electrician licensing, providing strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code, building products, construction details, calculations, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.
- Five years of electrical construction estimating experience for commercial and industrial projects; design-build estimating experience is preferred.
- Five years of work experience in Industrial Manufacturing Facilities, Water Treatment Plants, and Commercial Mixed-Use Buildings.
- Demonstrated strengths in leading, critical thinking, planning, listening, communicating, problem solving, adapting, advancing teamwork, and achieving results.
- Possession of a valid drivers license and acceptable insurability to drive for company business, which may include overnight travel
