For a Field Technician / Geologist

ENVIRO-SCIENCES (OF DELAWARE), INC. (ESI), a well-established environmental consulting firm in North NJ, is seeking an experienced Field Technician / Geologist to join our Lake Hopatcong, NJ Team. In this position, you will be involved in a combination of field and office work including a variety of project-related tasks associated with environmental field investigations and assessments as well as assisting the Project Team with technical reports. Field Technicians / Geologists will report directly to Project Managers and you will also have the opportunity to work directly with project and senior staff of the company. This position reports to our Lake Hopatcong, NJ office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform field assignments including drilling and groundwater / soil sampling
  • Analyze lab data and can create data tables for reports
  • Participate in field work and report writing for Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments
  • Support remediation projects and water resource studies.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and clients to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology or relation discipline(s) from an accredited university/college
  • 2 - 4 years of prior environmental field experience, which can include internship experience
  • Phase I ESA experience both in the field and completing reports.
  • Experience performing field assignments including drilling and environmental media sampling (groundwater, soil)
  • Ability to work with lab data and can create data tables for reports
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Microsoft Office Suite skills especially Excel
  • Knowledge of NJDEP regulations is preferred
  • Current OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certification
  • Ability to travel to various client sites and perform field work
  • Ability to read maps and directions
  • Prior experience following project specifications & plans
  • Experience in environmental consulting desired
  • Possess physical strength, stamina and dexterity to perform environmental site activities during field sampling and reconnaissance
  • Valid Driver’s License

To the qualified candidate employer offers:
