Job Description

It’s an exciting time to be an electrical engineer — the world is shifting rapidly toward an electric future, and so are we. At Hubbell, Roth & Clark, Inc. (HRC), our electrical department is growing fast, tackling new and evolving technologies for our municipal, industrial, and private clients.

For over 100 years, our success has come from our people — dedicated, talented team members who care about doing meaningful work and supporting each other. We believe investing in our people is what keeps us moving forward, and our partners live this out every day in how they work with our employees and our clients.

What You’ll Bring

  • A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 1+ years of experience in an electrical field.
  • F.E. (Fundamentals of Engineering) exam passed, or plans to take it soon.
  • Basic AutoCAD skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with low and medium voltage power system design.
  • A collaborative attitude and the ability to work independently when needed.

What You’ll Do

  • Work with a Professional Engineer to design and write specs for electrical power distribution, control systems, industrial lighting, motor controls, and more.
  • Visit commercial, industrial, and municipal sites for project design and construction support.
  • Coordinate with other in-house disciplines — Civil, Structural, Architectural, Survey, Environmental.
  • Communicate with utilities like DTE and Consumers Energy.
  • Assist with construction engineering.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, agencies, and your team to keep projects running smoothly.

What We Offer

  • A supportive, team-first work environment.
  • Clear paths to grow your career.
  • Fun team-building events — BBQs, office games, trivia, holiday parties.
  • Optional activities like a softball team, golf league, or euchre tournament.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Generous PTO starting on day one.
  • Hourly pay with time-and-a-half for overtime.
  • 401(k) plan with employer contributions.
  • Annual bonus and profit sharing.
  • Company-paid continuing education and training.
  • A new employee mentoring program.

We’re proud to be an ENR Top 500 Design Firm, named a Cool Place to Work in Michigan, and recognized as one of the Top Places to Work by the Detroit Free Press and USA for five years running.
