JOB DESCRIPTION-
The Patient Escort & Imaging Support Assistant provides essential support to the Radiology/Mammography department by assisting patients, facilitating communication, and supporting clinical staff. This role requires strong patient interaction skills, physical stamina, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Escort patients from the main lobby to the Mammography department, ensuring comfort, safety, and timely flow.
- Assist Imaging Technologists with patient scheduling, coordination, and basic transport needs.
- Operate the patient messaging system, including sending appointment reminders and notifications.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, staff, and providers.
- Provide general support to the Imaging team as needed to maintain efficient department operations.
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience working in a healthcare, hospital, or medical office setting (required).
- Spanish speaking (required).
- Strong communication, customer service, and patient interaction skills.
- Ability to remain on your feet for the majority of the shift.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Familiarity with Cerner or other EMR systems (preferred but not required).
- Radiology or imaging department experience preferred.
