We are one of the most well respected commercial construction company in Northern Virginia, known for our commitment to quality, safety, and sustainability. This is a reputation for delivering high-quality construction projects on time and within budget.

We have completed a wide range of commercial buildings, including office buildings, medical facilities, retail spaces, and government buildings. We already have a backlog for the next 6yrs.

Our company is well known for comprehensive safety program that includes regular training, safety inspections, and the use of advanced safety equipment, being members of the U.S. Green Building Council and have completed numerous LEED-certified projects.

Because of our growth, we are looking for a Construction Project Manager who, with at least 5yrs of recent experience within a ground up commercial construction environment & is wanting to grow within our company.

Position Summary: The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of construction project management, from inception to completion. This role involves ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Project Manager will work closely with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams to deliver successful projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Coordination:
    • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
    • Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and specifications.
    • Prepare and present project proposals, reports, and updates to clients and senior management.
  • Project Execution:
    • Oversee all phases of construction projects, ensuring compliance with design specifications, building codes, and safety standards.
    • Manage subcontractors and vendors, including negotiating contracts, monitoring performance, and ensuring timely delivery of materials and services.
    • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, address issues, and ensure quality control.
  • Budget and Financial Management:
    • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
    • Monitor project expenses and implement cost-saving measures where necessary.
    • Prepare and submit accurate and timely invoices and financial reports.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the project lifecycle.
    • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead and motivate project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
    • Provide guidance and support to team members, ensuring their professional development and growth.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of recent experience in project management within a commercial construction environment
  • We need true proficiency in Procore (Sage would be good (We use Sage 300)
  • Proven track record of managing commercial construction projects from start to finish.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • LEED Accredited Professional.
  • Experience with design-build projects.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
