Transport patients throughout the hospital complex. To provide safe, timely, comfortable, and courteous transportation for each patient. To exhibit utmost professionalism, friendliness, and helpfulness to contribute to a lasting impression of excellence in patient care for patients and family members.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Standing or walking for the vast majority of shift. Transporters walk between 4 to 10 miles, per day with sanitizing equipment and assisting patients in between.
- Pushing and pulling wheeled equipment that contains items and/or patients that include transporting deceased patients to the morgue as those needs arise.
- Assisting in the transfer of patients to and from equipment.
- Constant Operation of a mobile device application used for tracking trips around the facility and communicating with Supervisors
- Exchanging written/verbal information with other staff, patients and caregivers.
- Lifting oxygen tanks to the equipment holder and/or bins.
- Stooping and/or bending to sanitze all parts of equipment.
Shifts/Work Expectations:
- Shifts are Monday-Friday unless it is your weekend to work. Weekends are scheduled on a rotating basis.
- Overnight shift - Weekends are Friday and Saturday nights, you work every other weekend
- All Other Shifts - Weekends are Saturday and Sunday, you work one weekend and are off two weekends
- For any shift - when it is your weekend to work you are given a weekday off the week before and a weekday off the week after your weekend worked. These off days are fixed and will be the same each time.
Currently staffing for the following shifts:
- 7am - 3:30pm
- 11am - 7:30pm
- 3pm - 11:30pm
- 11pm - 7:30am
