Position Summary:
The Human Resources Coordinator is a key player in shaping the employee experience for Bailey Nurseries’ seasonal and emerging talent workforce in Minnesota. The HR Coordinator leads full-cycle hiring and onboarding for seasonal employees, builds community recruitment pipelines, and supports the company-wide Internship Program with consistent, high-quality processes.
The position assists with Minnesota’s H-2A program by coordinating several part is the program, while serving as the main point of contact for domestic and foreign seasonal workers. It also maintains compliant personnel files, supports audits, and ensures adherence to federal and state regulations. The ideal candidates are bilingual, detail-oriented, and experienced in seasonal or high-volume recruitment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Seasonal Workforce & Internship Program
- Coordinate the full-cycle recruitment, selection, hiring, and onboarding of seasonal employees at the Minnesota location.
- Identify and manage local recruitment resources, such as job fairs, job boards, and community organizations.
- Lead the company-wide Internship Program by developing standardized practices, enhancing the applicant and onboarding experience, and aligning the program with Bailey’s brand and talent strategy. Collaborate with other sites to ensure consistent implementation and quality across all locations.
- Partner with the Senior Human Resources Generalist to plan and execute recruitment initiatives.
H-2A Program Support
- Support the administration of the H-2A guest worker program in Minnesota.
- Ensure local implementation aligns with company-wide standards and compliance requirements.
- Coordinates H2A travel reimbursement , housing support, and onboarding logistics.
- Servers as the main point of contact for our Seasonal ( Domestic and foreign) workforce.
HR Compliance & Administration
- Prepare and maintain seasonal employee personnel files.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state employment regulations, including labor and immigration laws.
- Support document readiness for audits and internal reviews.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity in all HR documentation.
Strategic HR Operations Support
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for seasonal HR tasks and location-specific processes.
- Identify and implement local-level innovations that improve seasonal workforce experience, onboarding efficiency, or compliance workflows.
- Assist in driving improvements to internal documentation, templates, and systems related to seasonal HR practices.
Employee Relations & HR Team Support
- Assist with initial intake of employee concerns and questions, escalating to HR Manager as appropriate.
- Serve as a backup to other Human Resources Coordinators as needed.
Provide support with interpretation and translation into Spanish.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Human Resources or a combination of relevant experience and HR certification.
- Experience in recruiting and onboarding seasonal and/or temporary employees.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with diverse audiences.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated discretion, professionalism, and sensitivity to employee confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with HRIS and ATS platforms.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet Company criteria for insurability.
Preferred Qualifications:
- HR Certification (SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred.
- Experience in agriculture or seasonal workforce management.
- Experience with process improvement or change management.
