NOW HIRING! Event Production Crew Member
Location: Richmond, VA
Employment Type: Full-Time (Part-Time Opportunities Available)
Pay: $16–$19/hour (based on experience)
About Us Magic Special Events is a full-service event design and production company specializing in transforming visions into spectacular, memorable experiences. From elegant weddings to large-scale corporate events and festivals, our team creates unforgettable moments with creativity, professionalism, and passion. We are seeking motivated, enthusiastic individuals to join our crew and assist with event setup, operation, breakdown, and warehouse support. Training will be provided in multiple aspects of live event production.
Responsibilities
• Pull and check equipment, ensuring all items are in good condition
• Load and unload trucks with event materials
• Assemble and install tents, décor, scenery, and lighting fixtures according to safety standards
• Perform minor on-site repairs as needed
• Monitor and staff equipment during events
• Disassemble and safely pack event materials after events
• Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient worksite
• Assist in the warehouse between events with organizing, cleaning, repairing, and preparing equipment for upcoming productions
Qualifications & Skills
• Positive, team-oriented attitude
• Must have a valid driver’s license and provide a clean driving record
• Ability to assemble and disassemble equipment safely
• Comfortable using hand and power tools
• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 70 lbs (occasionally up to 100 lbs with assistance)
• Reliable transportation to and from work
• Basic maintenance and repair skills
• Willingness to travel locally and out of town with the team as needed
• Flexible availability (evenings, weekends, holidays)
• Strong commitment to safe working practices
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and temperatures
Physical Requirements
• Standing, walking, and climbing ladders for extended periods
• Lifting, stacking, and moving heavy equipment (up to 70 lbs alone, 100 lbs with assistance)
• Frequent use of tools, hand coordination, and equipment handling
• Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.)
