Bindery Machine Operator
As a Bindery Machine Operator your job is to set up and operate cutter or folder machine for the duration of a production run. In this role you may operate a machine, feed materials into the machine and perform maintenance to ensure your machine can run as often as possible.
Education
- High school education or equivalent
- thorough knowledge of Die Cutting
- Minimum or 2 years experience as a Bindery Machine Operator, with good record of accuracy and producing quality product.
- Ability to read and write in English
- Posses mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of whole numbers and fractions.
Bindery Skills Required - Demonstrate the ability to:
- Set up and run cutter or folder based on production schedule to include pre-make ready of job, setting up and tooling
- Understand Bindery related specifications
- read and understand the job ticket and work order
- Understand customer quality requirements
- Understand and use proofs in checking cutting attributes
- Sets up job on press and completes make ready to include all processes required
- Machine Operators work with automatic cutting and folding machines, you may also be asked to perform manual tasks as needed
- Maintain stamina in this physical job
- Review schedules to determine next job
- Load press, monitoring quality
- Unload press and move job to next area
- Maintain and clean equipment
Skills Required
- Very close work with constant visual effort and physical activity. Standing, walking, lifting and pulling required throughout shift
