Job Summary:
Plant General Manager
The Plant General Manager will oversee all daily operations of the manufacturing facilities to ensure optimal performance in accordance with company policies and procedures. The role demands a highly skilled professional with extensive experience in plant management, who can drive continuous improvement and operational excellence. The Plant General Manager is accountable for meeting production goals, maintaining product quality, ensuring workplace safety, and managing the plant budget, all while leading a diverse team to achieve company objectives.
Management Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, direct, and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers’ expectations.
- Assume Production Manager Responsibilities & Develop Production Tracking System.
- Manage both operational and functional staff, including Production, Fabrication, Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering and Customer Service.
- Act as Front-Line Manager for Fabrication and Assembly Departments.
- Establish Key Performance Indicators in safety, quality, delivery, inventory and cost.
- Act with analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills to drive Key Performance Indicators.
- Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Emphasize utilization of Lean/Six Sigma manufacturing tools (Kaizen, VSM, 5S+) to lead cost improvement analysis and implement actionable, measurable plans.
- Champion a workplace focused on Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) to drive a zero-incident safety culture.
- Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results.
- Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus.
- Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions.
- Foster a Quality culture of early detection and escalations across the site to reduce cost, drive efficiency and ensure compliance.
- Partner with Human Resource to develop talent.
- Collect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtime and reduce.
- Commit to plant safety procedures.
- Collaborates in developing systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics, and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets.
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Collaborates in handling discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy and Human Resources.
- Evaluate employees and give suggestions for improvement.
- Demonstrate a leadership style that perpetuates the Pacific Electric Values and Philosophy and Code of Ethics.
- Ensure motivation and retention of a High-Performance plant team and workforce.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Oversees production quotas and schedules, ensuring inventory and shipment targets are met.
- Oversees purchasing department to verify, review, maintain, and report on materials and production inventories.
- Foster a safety culture through deployment of environment, health and safety initiatives and safety-focused leadership.
- Perform routine safety walks and checks on equipment.
- Facilitates and authorizes repairs or maintenance for production tools and equipment.
- Identifies and recommends cost controls and other improvements to the production process.
- Analyze data and create reports to present to executives regarding processes.
- Collaborates to create budget and forecasts.
- Execute to meet budget goals.
- Be a point of contact for customers, distributor partners, & field service team.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- As part of the plant staff collaborates with Accounting, HR and Ownership on the successful performance of the operation.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Minimum of ten years’ experience in manufacturing and at least 5 years management. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

- Proven work experience as a Plant Manager.
- Adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources)

- Knowledge of latest safety laws and regulations.
- Ability to create accountability and to lead by example.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution with 10 years of prior supervisory/management experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment. Experience with metal fabrication, assembly, and electrical products. Experience in an industrial environment. Prior experience in the electrical industry. Working knowledge of the panelboard/switchboard industry.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
