Role Overview:

A Production Team Member must be able to operate machines for the washing, dry-cleaning and finishing of household products and garments made of fabric, such as clothing, blankets, rugs, and draperies.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sort/Clean/Spot/Press.
2. Inspect/Buttons/Assembly.
3. Maintain production goals.
4. Fabric identification.
5. Overall workflow.
6. Routine operator maintenance.
7. Classifies and organizes incoming items by lot color / order.
8. Operates washing and dry cleaning machines to clean and dry items.
9. Finishes garments, using a hand iron and pressing machine.
10. Assembles completed and inspected items.
11. May perform related tasks, such as mending torn articles, sewing on buttons and expediting clothing through the process.
12. May specialize in receiving and washing, in finishing, in expediting, and will be assigned to a primary production position but not limited to one job.
13. Cross-trained in as many Production Technician positions as possible.
14. Works well as a team member with other team members.
15. Has the ability to follow direction from the Production Team Leader. Must be willing to accept positive constructive suggestions.
16. Notifies the Production Team Leader of any problems with equipment or challenges with processing their assigned items.
17. Follow the production schedule in the correct “lot sequence.”
18. Performs other duties assigned.
19. Keeps the work area neat and clean.
20. Maintains a professional appearance.
21. Attends production meetings as requested.

Key Competencies:

Able to see colors.

Good motor skills without being rough on items.

Has pressing and production experience.

Knowledge of fabric types and types of pressing needed for each type of garment.

Physical Requirements:

Good eyesight.

Physical endurance to stand for the entire shift.

Have the right mindset to do repetitive work.

Professional/Educational Background:

High school graduation or equivalent
