Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
Location: Eugene, Oregon | Onsite Required
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Salary Range: $130,000 – $180,000/year
Reports to: PMHNP Clinical Supervisor
Licensure Requirement: Must be actively licensed as a PMHNP in the state of Oregon

Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, highly skilled Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our collaborative team. You will play a critical role in providing comprehensive psychiatric care, including evaluations, diagnosis, crisis intervention, medication management, and therapy for individuals and groups across a diverse population and across their lifespan.

Key Responsibilities:
Assessment & Diagnosis
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations.
- Gather and review medical, psychological, social, and environmental histories.
- Formulate DSM-5-based diagnoses using clinical judgment and assessment tools.
Treatment Planning
- Develop, implement, and manage individualized treatment plans integrating pharmacological and therapeutic interventions that is tailored to the individual client needs.
- Utilize evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and other therapeutic approaches as appropriate.
Medication Management
- Prescribe, manage and adjust psychiatric medications with attention to effectiveness, side effects, and patient education.
- Monitor medication adherence and ensure safe and appropriate use.
Counseling and Psychotherapy
- Provide individual, family, and/or group therapy sessions to address mental health concerns
· Support patients in understanding and managing stress, trauma, and mental health conditions through therapeutic interventions.
Crisis Intervention
· Respond promptly to mental health crises with appropriate interventions to stabilize acute conditions.
· Provide guidance and resources to clients experiencing immediate distress or life-threatening situations.
Team Collaboration & Client Advocacy
· Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including physicians, psychologists, social workers, and case managers, to ensure comprehensive care.
· Advocate for clients and ensure referrals to specialists or additional services as needed for further evaluation or treatment.
Documentation & Compliance
· Maintain accurate, detailed, and confidential client records, documenting all assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
· Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, ethical standards, and regulatory guidelines in psychiatric practice.
Professional Development and Education
- Stay current with the latest advancements and research in psychiatric nursing and mental health care.
- Participate in continuing education, workshops, and training to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
Qualifications
- Master’s or Doctorate in Nursing with Psychiatric Mental Health (PMHNP) specialization.
- Active PMHNP license in Oregon (required).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in psychiatric assessment, medication management, and therapy.
· Experience in psychiatric assessments, diagnosis, medication management, therapy, and crisis intervention.
· Strong understanding of legal and ethical standards in mental health practice.
· Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
