Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician for a growing manufacturing facility located in Paw Paw, MI. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing the mechanical and electrical/electronic systems of manufacturing equipment and facility infrastructure. The position also includes machine rebuilding, preventative maintenance, welding, equipment movement, and machining of parts. Possession of or the ability to possess a Journeyman Millwright card and/or Electrician’s card (dual trade) is highly preferred.

Success in this role comes from a commitment to quality, strong technical expertise, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic systems for manufacturing equipment and facility operations.
  • Perform machine rebuilding, general machine repair, and preventative maintenance.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues using electrical blueprints, schematics, and mechanical system knowledge.
  • Lay out wire control panels (basic knowledge acceptable).
  • Perform welding and machining tasks as needed.
  • Move, install, and align equipment.
  • Maintain compliance with current national electrical codes and safety standards.
  • Utilize PLC knowledge where applicable (PLC experience desired but not required).
  • Work safely from ladders and man lifts; perform heavy lifting as needed.
  • Support production through reliable attendance, meeting deadlines, and working overtime—including weekends—when required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Possession of or the ability to possess a Journeyman Millwright card and/or Electrician’s card (dual trade highly preferred).
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate cooperative work behavior.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints/schematics.
  • General knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic manufacturing systems.
  • Familiarity with national electrical codes.
  • Skilled in hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Basic understanding of control panel layout and wiring.
  • You must have good math skills.
  • Must provide your own tools (required tool list provided during interview).
  • Ability to work at heights, use man lifts, and perform physically demanding tasks.
