The Food Safety Compliance Specialist collects, maintains and distributes all documents necessary to ensure conformance to customer requirements; maintains a comprehensive filing system and computer database for all documents to be retained; manages the operation of the document control center to ensure that all users have the latest revision of appropriate documentation in a timely manner. Ensuring that food products are safe, comply with regulatory requirements, and meet both company and customer standards.
Job responsibilities:
- Ensuring Compliance with Food Safety Regulations.
- Maintain food safety and regulatory compliance. This includes ensuring that food products meet strict legal requirements, are properly labeled, and are safe for consumption.
- Maintain COAs, Ingredient Supplier Documentation, and Finished Goods Compliance /Documentation Processes of all Imports.
- Good understanding of Audit Preparation; GFSI/Customer audit.
- Maintain current knowledge of food safety legislation and regulatory updates in the US, Canada, UK, and EU is a Plus.
- Make sure every raw ingredient received into warehouse has a COA. Check each COA against the ingredient spec to be sure testing results are within the ranges set on the raw ingredient spec.
- Maintain all import compliance /audit document.
- Import/Export License/Permit and maintain FSVP documents.
- Communicate with cross functional teams in the US and Korea.
- Support the Sales and Marketing teams with documentation for import/exports.
- Customer QA/Regulatory portal Site Management.
- Communicate with marketing/sales and customer’s QA to complete the tasks.
- Label Compliance Review.
- Work with cross functional teams to finalize labels for all imports.
- Obtain approval from cross-functional team before releasing production.
Skill/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Food Science, Nutrition, or a related field.
- 2+ years of relevant food regulatory experience.
- Knowledge of FDA/USDA/CFIA food labeling regulations and documentation requirements.
- Must have initiative, be able to work independently, and exercise good judgment.
- Detail-oriented, demonstrates a high degree of accuracy and thoroughness.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of food product development and import/export process are preferred.
- Korean/English bilingual is a must.
- GFSI and PCQI certifications are plus to act as the company’s FSVP Qualified Individual in accordance with FDA’s FSMA regulations for U.S. imports.
- Experiences and knowledge of GENESIS program are a plus.
