Our client is a privately held specialty chemical manufacturer focused on delivering innovative solutions across multiple industries, including industrial water treatment. The company fosters a collaborative, fast-paced environment with a strong emphasis on technical excellence and customer satisfaction. Currently, they are looking to add a Senior Chemist (Industrial Water Treatment Division) to their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:
$100k - $120k DOE + Annual bonus

Position Overview:
The Senior Chemist (Industrial Water Treatment Division) supports the Industrial Water Treatment Division by leading technical support, product development, compliance, and sales enablement efforts. The Senior Chemist (Industrial Water Treatment Division) will be reporting to the Chief Technical Officer and will play a key part in delivering engineered chemical solutions for complex water treatment systems.

Responsibilities of the Senior Chemist (Industrial Water Treatment Division):

  • Provide technical expertise during sales meetings and customer site visits.
  • Manage product formulations for water treatment applications (e.g., biocides, boiler, cooling tower, wastewater).
  • Lead R&D initiatives to expand product capabilities and improve performance.
  • Support sales reps with lab-based research and tailored technical solutions.
  • Maintain technical marketing materials and online sales tools.
  • Assist in managing vendor and partner relationships.
  • Conduct audits of customer systems and prepare technical reports.
  • Collaborate with other divisions and support production scale-up and troubleshooting.
  • Perform lab analyses and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Identify and implement process improvements.

Required Experience/Skills for the Senior Chemist (Industrial Water Treatment Division):

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in technical support or a related role.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to assess color changes for titration.
  • Intermediate lab skills and understanding of chemical safety.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Assistant Technical Director - Water Treatment Division:

  • Experience with industrial water treatment systems.
  • Familiarity with ERP or lab management platforms.
  • Vendor or partner management experience.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
