The Field Technician plays a critical role by providing expert, in-home diagnostic and repair services on premium residential appliances, including refrigerators, ovens, dishwashers, and other high-end equipment. The technician is responsible for delivering professional, courteous, and timely service while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and representing the company with integrity.
Education and Experience Required:
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an appliance repair training program or relevant trade school preferred.
• 2+ years of hands-on appliance repair experience preferred, with preference given to those with experience on premium or high-end brands.
• Experience reading technical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Familiarity with electronic diagnostic tools, mobile devices, and scheduling software.
• Because the candidate will be driving a company car all candidates must be able to pass a background check and have a clean driving record.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience as an appliance repair technician, preferably working with premium or high-end brands.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Proficiency with tools, testing equipment, and mobile apps for dispatch and job tracking.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized in handling documentation and scheduling.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift and move large appliances safely with or without assistance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Diagnose and repair residential appliances from premium brands, including refrigerators, ovens, dishwashers, ranges, washers, dryers, and more.
• Visit customers' homes to troubleshoot appliance issues, complete repairs, and install genuine manufacturer parts.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of service calls, parts used, and work performed in the company’s scheduling and dispatch software.
• Order necessary parts for upcoming repairs and manage part returns (both used and unused) in accordance with company procedures.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and stocked inventory of parts and tools in the company-provided service vehicle.
• Operate company vehicle safely and in compliance with company policy and traffic laws.
• Maintain a clean and respectful work area in customers’ homes and take precautions to avoid any property damage.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with customers to explain issues, repairs, and product care recommendations.
• Adhere to all company policies, safety guidelines, and manufacturer protocols.
• Participate in ongoing training to stay current with evolving appliance technologies and repair techniques.
Compensation:
$18/hr to $25/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
