Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (NICU RN)
We are seeking an experienced NICU RN to join our Neonatal Intensive Care team in a high acuity, family centered environment. The NICU RN provides specialized care for premature and critically ill newborns, partnering closely with neonatology and interdisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill neonates, including continuous assessment and monitoring
- Manage incubators, ventilators, CPAP, IV therapy, TPN, and medication administration per protocol
- Support neonatal procedures, obtain labs, and maintain central line care as appropriate
- Recognize and respond rapidly to changes in infant condition, initiating emergency interventions as needed
- Educate and support families, promoting bonding and developmental care practices
- Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapy, lactation, and ancillary services to coordinate care
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the EMR
Requirements
- Active RN license (state specific or compact)
- Minimum 2 years of recent NICU RN experience in the same specialty
- BLS required; NRP required
- Strong neonatal assessment, critical thinking, and family communication skills
- Comfortable with high acuity neonates, advanced monitoring, and rapid response situations
