Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Geotechnical Project Manager with a strong background in TxDOT projects. The ideal candidate will lead geotechnical engineering projects, ensuring compliance with state regulations and delivering high-quality results. This role requires a balance of technical expertise and project management skills to effectively manage project timelines, budgets, and stakeholder communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage geotechnical projects in compliance with TxDOT standards and regulations
- Conduct foundation design and analysis for various infrastructure projects
- Oversee site investigations and soil mechanics assessments
- Manage project budgets and timelines, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule
- Prepare technical reports and documentation for project stakeholders
- Communicate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure project alignment
- Evaluate risks and implement quality control measures throughout project lifecycle
- Utilize AutoCAD for design and drafting as needed
- Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on technical issues
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Texas
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in geotechnical project management
- Proven experience in foundation design and site investigation
- Familiarity with TxDOT regulations and project standards
- Strong project management skills and experience with budget management
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and risk assessment practices
- Experience with construction materials and quality control processes
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and technical reporting
