Position: Analyzing Technician I
Location: Elgin, IL
Employment Type: Contract, Full-Time
Shift Options:
- 1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:15 PM
- 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM
- Duration: Immediate start through year-end (extensions possible)
Role Overview:
You will be responsible for board-level analysis and troubleshooting of failed 2-way subscriber products (mobile and portable radios). This role requires testing, diagnosing, and identifying root causes of failures using advanced electronic tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze rejected electronic assemblies using test equipment, simulators, and troubleshooting techniques
- Troubleshoot complex problems, define corrective actions, and communicate findings
- Identify vendor vs. process defects; document findings in detailed failure analysis reports
- Record failure data and provide clear explanations of diagnoses
- Support factory operations on weekends if required
- Work independently and adapt to varying conditions
Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology required; Bachelor’s preferred
- 1–3 years of experience in electronics testing/troubleshooting, preferably with RF knowledge
- Proficiency with signal generators, modulation/audio analyzers, spectrum analyzers, power meters, oscilloscopes, etc.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics for component-level troubleshooting is a plus
- Extensive knowledge of 2-way subscriber products is a plus
- Strong electronic and mechanical troubleshooting skills
- 100% onsite presence
- Steel toe boots mandatory
