Overview
Helios Defense Solutions LLC, a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Boat Captain/Instructor to support the US Navy's Maritime Expeditionary Security Group One Training and Evaluation Unit at Navy Outlying Field-Imperial Beach and Naval Amphibious Base Coronado. The individual will provide support related to the Tactical Patrol Boat Training and Technical Support services effort.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Provide training in the following activities:
- Small arms and crew served weapons training (see Attachment 3 – Small Arms Qualifications, Coastal Riverine Force Instruction (CORIVFORINST) 3591.1 (series).
- Tactical boat operations. Provide basic and specialized training in small boat operations and tactical employment in accordance with TACTICAL BOAT OPERATIONS (NTTP 3-20.6.29M). Tactical Patrol Boat (PB) Navy Maintenance, Material and Management (3M) preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance on PB systems in accordance with OPNAVINST 4790 and related COMNECC and MESFOR governing directives.
- Pre-deployment training
Provide Technical Support services:
- Analysis, design, and development of policy, tasks and functions related to Coastal Maritime programs.
- Support Maritime Basic Water Survival Training (COMCORIVGRUONEINST 1542.1 and MCO 1500.52D)
- Tactical Patrol Boat training curriculum design, development, and improvement.
Requirements:
Minimum qualifications for this position are:
- Active SECRET clearance at time of proposal
- Possesses an active state driver’s license
- Physically fit (see Notes below)
- Proficient in reading and understanding technical drawings and schematics
- Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office, including MS Word, MS Excel and Power Point
- Record of PQS qualifications in all CORIVFOR weapons and weapon systems
- Qualified Navy Second Class Swimmer or equivalent
- Four (4) years documented small boat/craft tactical experience in a maritime environment with proficiency in: Maritime Navigation, Tactical Boat Operations, and Military decision-making processes; Organizational and individual planning; Tactical Boat Patrol Coordination; Development and issuance of CONOPs, WARNOs, Patrol Order, and Mission Debriefing
- Must possess at least one of the following qualifications (or equivalent):
• Navy Enlisted Code (NEC) (9502) 805A Instructor
• Navy NEC (9518) A12A Professional Development Instructor
• Completed Journeyman Instructor Training (JIT) or equivalent
