Job DescriptionTitle: Machine Operator (drilling and tapping experience required)Shift: 1st, 2nd and 3rd Shifts Available Pay: Between $20-$27 /hr based on experienceLocation: Mentor, OHType: Temp to HireResponsibilities / Activities:
- Set up and loading of spindle / multi-spindle machines
- Proper selection, installation and adjustment of tooling
- Coordinate with quality control to check parts and ensure proper machine set up
- Operate machine to ensure quality production; perform machine adjustments as needed.
- Perform independent quality checks to ensure standards are met and products are within tolerance
- Use of computer during operation to update quality control procedure documents
- Tumble parts for eliminating burs and chips as needed
- Maintain the machine in good working order
Requirements:
- Must have multiple years of experience in drilling and tapping
- Able to read and understand blueprints
- Must be able to understand quality requirements per written and verbal instructions
- Able to use and understand standard measuring devices & equipment: calipers, micrometers, pitch micrometers, hardness testers, thread gages, and various specialized hand gages as well as comparators.
- Manual dexterity for machine loading and adjustments
- Lifting a maximum of 50 lbs. several times per week
- Ability to stand at least 6 hours a day
- Adequate hearing to be able to hear verbal instructions
- Has clear eye vision at least 20/40 (wearing glasses) in order to adequately inspect parts (vision within 3 feet must be excellent)
- Ability to walk at least 1/2 mile per day (inside shop or between buildings)
- Computer literacy as there is extensive use of proprietary software on the job
- Must be able to read and understand written instructions
- Must pass all related ISO training within the first month on the job
Other Expectations:
- Must work a full eight-hour shift, or another assigned shift, each scheduled working day
- Expected to work overtime hours when requested
- Must clock in no later than the scheduled start time, and no earlier than the end of the scheduled time
