About the Position:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Structural Steel Shop Foreman to lead our fabrication team and oversee daily operations in our steel shop. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural steel fabrication, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to maintain high-quality standards while meeting project deadlines.
Key Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate day-to-day activities of shop personnel, including fabricators, welders, and helpers.

Review blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate fabrication.

Plan, allocate, and schedule work to meet project timelines.

Ensure proper setup, operation, and maintenance of shop equipment and tools.

Conduct quality checks on fabricated parts before delivery or installation.

Maintain a clean, safe, and OSHA-compliant shop environment.

Train, mentor, and evaluate shop employees.

Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and field crews to resolve fabrication issues.

Manage inventory of materials, consumables, and supplies.

Track production progress and report daily/weekly updates to management.
Qualifications

Experience in structural steel fabrication (required).

Previous experience as a shop foreman or lead position (preferred).

Strong knowledge of welding processes, cutting, fitting, and layout.

Ability to read and interpret structural blueprints and shop drawings.

Proficient with measurement tools, fabrication equipment, and shop machinery.

Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in a physically active environment.
Work Schedule

Full-time, Monday–Friday
