Formulation Scientist I / Formulation Associate (Entry-Level)

Position Summary
We are seeking motivated entry-level graduates in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related fields to join our Formulation Development team. This role offers hands-on experience in drug product formulation, characterization, and development within a regulated biopharmaceutical environment.
The successful candidate will work under the guidance of experienced scientists to support formulation experiments, data analysis, and documentation for clinical and commercial drug products.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and optimization of drug product formulations (liquid, lyophilized, or solid dosage forms)
- Prepare buffers, solutions, and formulations following standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Perform routine laboratory experiments and formulation studies
- Support characterization testing (e.g., pH, osmolality, viscosity, appearance, stability)
- Accurately document experimental procedures, results, and observations in laboratory notebooks or electronic systems
- Assist with stability studies, sample preparation, and data tracking
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with safety and GMP/GLP guidelines
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including analytical, process development, and quality
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Biopharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field
- Strong interest in biopharmaceutical formulation and drug product development
- Basic laboratory experience gained through coursework, internships, or research projects
- Understanding of fundamental lab techniques and scientific principles
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to follow written procedures and work in a regulated environment
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship, co-op, or undergraduate research experience in pharma, biotech, or formulation labs
- Familiarity with biologics (proteins, peptides) or pharmaceutical dosage forms
- Exposure to GMP, GLP, or regulated laboratory environments
- Experience with analytical techniques (e.g., HPLC, UV, pH, osmolality)
