The Golf Professional will assist with all aspects of golf operations, including instruction, tournaments, retail management, and customer service. Our ideal candidate will have a passion for golf, exceptional customer service skills, and a strong desire to contribute to the success of our world-class golf facility.
What You’ll Do
- Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the golf course, ensuring the highest standards of course conditions and readiness for play.
- Assist in managing the golf shop, including maintaining inventory, merchandising, and ensuring a well-organized and welcoming environment for customers.
- Actively interact with members and guests, offering personalized service and fostering a welcome atmosphere. Engage in meaningful conversations, remember member preferences, and create memorable experiences that reflect the club’s commitment to excellence.
- Assist in the planning, organization, and execution of golf tournaments and events. Help with registration, scoring, and ensuring the smooth operation of all golf-related activities.
- Provide individual and group golf lessons to players of all skill levels, ensuring a positive and engaging learning experience.
- Lead or assist with junior golf programs and clinics, fostering a love for the game in young players. Lead group lessons and other golf events as needed.
- Ensure that golfers follow the rules of the course, maintain good pace of play, and respect golf course etiquette. Assist with managing the practice areas and driving range.
- Support the marketing efforts for the golf course, including promoting special offers, events, and programs to increase engagement and participation.
- Work closely with fellow golf professionals, outside services, and other club departments to promote a cohesive and positive team environment. Contribute to a culture of respect, inclusivity, and shared commitment to service excellence.
- Create written correspondence including confirmations, follow-ups, thank you notes, and future business solicitations.
- Learn and grow within a brand-new operational setting.
- Serve as a “utility player”, taking on diverse responsibilities across departments to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements:
- Class A PGA Member in good standing.
- 3-5 years of experience in a private club or luxury hospitality, preferably in a professional golf setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Passion for hospitality, golf, and creating memorable experiences.
- Well versed in Golf Genius Tournament Software.
- Strong knowledge of golf techniques, rules, and etiquette.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree from accredited Professional Golf Management program.
- Extensive training of staff, leadership within a golf operation.
- Ability to teach golfers of all levels, from beginners to advanced players.
- Customer service mentality with a commitment to providing an exceptional golf experience.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs for inventory and retail management tasks.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time during lessons and on the golf course.
- Skilled in email responses and effective communication in a golf shop setting.
