Job Description

Job DescriptionDescription:

Step into a leadership role where your impact drives results every single day. As our Production Manager, you’ll lead a talented, hard-working team at our rail welding facility in Granite City, IL—where precision, teamwork, and pride in craftsmanship come together to keep America’s railways moving. We’ve built our reputation over 65 years by delivering what matters and building exceptional teams that stand behind their work.

In this role, the Production Manager oversees daily operations on the weld line, ensuring production goals are met safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You’ll lead from the front—motivating your team, solving problems on the floor, and keeping operations flowing smoothly in a fast-paced industrial setting.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of 10+ production employees, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure operational safety through proactive leadership and consistent enforcement of safety protocols and procedures.
  • Monitor production goals, maintain accurate inventory and quality records, and address discrepancies swiftly to keep schedules on track.
  • Perform light mechanical maintenance—troubleshooting hydraulic, chain, or roller systems, and performing minor welding repairs when needed.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to lead under pressure, and the drive to grow within a company that’s expanding nationwide. You’ll use your experience managing industrial teams to inspire excellence while staying hands-on in the operation. The Production Manager will rely on strong communication skills, sound judgment, and a results-driven mindset to meet daily production demands. What You Bring:

  • 3–5 years of leadership experience managing 10+ employees in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience driving safety performance, coaching teams, and maintaining accurate production records.
  • Hands-on experience with light mechanical maintenance (hydraulics, chains, rollers, welding).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite for reporting and communication.
  • Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments and in all weather conditions.

Why You’ll Love Working Here: We offer a competitive compensation package, comprehensive benefits (medical, dental, vision), 401K with match, paid time off, holiday pay, company-paid life insurance, short-term disability, tuition reimbursement, and a boot voucher.

If you’re ready to take ownership of a critical production operation, mentor a high-performing team, and grow your experience in a company that values initiative and excellence, this Production Manager role is your next career move.
