Job Description
The Internship:
The successful candidate will sit in the Capital Markets team. The Capital Markets team is responsible for shaping JSA’s aircraft portfolio by evaluating acquisition, sale, and placement opportunities and managing the financing of our investments. To make this happen, Capital Markets closely partners with the entire company, working with Marketing, Risk Management, Technical, and Legal.
The internship will be 8-10 weeks long in summer 2026 and provide the successful candidate with exposure to multiple departments within JSA. By the end of the internship the successful candidate will be able to evaluate aircraft purchase and lease transactions.
The Role:
This role will report to VP Capital Markets, and will be based in our San Francisco headquarters.
Intern position duties will include:
- Monitoring of our aircraft portfolio and preparation of related internal and external reports
- Discounted cash-flow modeling of an aircraft lease transaction
- Support miscellaneous corporate finance, industry research, and internal database initiatives
Preferred Qualifications:
Successful candidates will possess the following skills and background:
- Working towards a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Math, Economics, Engineering, Accounting or Finance with graduation in 2026 or 2027
- Strong MS Excel quantitative and financial modeling skills
- Knowledge of discounted cash-flow modeling techniques (DCF), investment return analysis, capital budgeting (NPV/IRR), financial statement analysis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially using MS Word and PowerPoint
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work as part of a small team
- A passion for, aviation, commercial air travel, or aircraft a plus
