Pearl Interactive Network is seeking Independent Clinical Adult Mental Health Counselors.
The Clinical Adult Mental Health Counselor provides mental health and emotional support through individual, group, and family counseling, assessing clients' needs, developing treatment plans, and offering coping strategies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide evidence-based psychotherapy for clients who present with various concerns such as substance abuse, depression, anxiety, trauma, and adjustment disorders.
- Meet with patients to determine the exact nature of their mental health concerns.
- Conducts initial patient assessments.
- Conduct counseling sessions.
- Assess clients' mental health through interviews, observations, and tests
- Provides individual and group psychotherapy services.
- Create personalized treatment plans.
- Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Advocate for clients' mental health needs.
- Provide emergency support as needed in accordance with the after-hours on-call schedule.
- Attend all scheduled programmatic meetings (e.g., clinical supervision, staff meetings, etc.)
- Prepare discharge summaries.
- Refer patients to other mental healthcare providers as necessary.
- Performs case management duties as necessary.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records.
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards in counseling practice.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Master of Social Work (MSW) degree.
- State licensure (LGSW, LGPC)
- Meet your specific state's requirements for licensure and continuing education.
- Must have and maintain General Liability and Professional Liability Insurance
- Tuberculosis test
- Experience in clinical or counseling settings.
- Strong understanding of evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and make clinical decisions.
- Experience with electronic health records.
- Leadership and mentoring abilities.
- Knowledge in healthcare policy and advocacy.
- Proficiency in diagnostic and medical equipment.
- Strong clinical and diagnostic skills.
- Strong ethical and professional standards.
- Willing to work an independent contract position.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to sit for prolonged periods of time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
